OSC Brannon C. Buxton is a native of Luling, Louisiana and completed basic training in August 2000.

OSC Buxton completed Telecommunications Specialist "A" School in May 2002 and a 2012 graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer's Academy.

His units include the 180-foot sea going buoy tender Cutter SWEETGUM (WLB 309) in Mobile, AL, Group New Orleans, LA, Sector New Orleans, LA, Cutter MIDGETT (WHEC 726) in Seattle, WA and Sector North Carolina.  He reported aboard Cutter MELLON in July of 2013.

Chief Buxton has held qualifications as a Communications Controller, Watch Supervisor, Operations "Search and Rescue" Controller, Watch Officer, and Command Duty Officer.

Chief Buxton's personal awards include three Coast Guard Achievement Medals, two Commandant Letter of Commendations, and various other unit and service awards.

Chief Buxton is married to the former Erika Luengo, a native of Portland, OR, and they have a son, Silas.  Erika is pregnant with their second boy.
