SK3 Stephan Daniels
Supply and logistics enable POLAR SEA to operate. Storekeeper Third Class (SK3) Daniels is a member of a rarely recognized but central component to POLAR SEA’s mission execution. In preparation for AWF09, SK3 Daniels exhibited his expertise as he administered $200,000 in unit spending. Petty Officer Daniels’ competence and abilities have earned him the role of lead procurement agent. In the week prior to sailing, SK3 spent liberty time to contribute to POLAR SEA’s morale by purchasing morale items such as ping pong tables. When inport, SK3 Daniels is a duty section leader who takes pride in his section to be vigilant and professional.
Petty Officer Daniels is a valued shipmate who is always willing to help others. When there was a shortage of watchstanders upon first getting underway for AWF09, he volunteered to stand helm and lookout to ease the strain on the Deck Department. SK3 Daneils stood double 4-8 watches for two straight weeks, while 18 new personnel got qualified. SK3 Daniels has proven himself to be a “go to guy” when something needs to get done. In addition to his duties and responsibilities as a storekeeper, SK3 Daniels is also a qualified Helicopter Tie Down Crewman and the Supply Department Morale Representative. SK3 Daniels embodies the ideal characteristics of a junior petty officer.
