ET2 Colin Ryan
Electronic Technician 2nd Class (ET2) Ryan is the primary technician for POLAR SEA’s entertainment system. This encompasses the TV system underway and in port and all other installed audio and visual equipment. He was a key link to setting up several morale events in the hangar and crew training on the TV system. ET2 Ryan continuously develops ways to improve channel 10, the local POLAR SEA channel that is run across the ship’s system.
In addition he willingly takes time to upload crew and scientist photos to the network and channel 10 for the benefit of his shipmates. Recently ET2 Ryan responded to a casualty with the entertainment system on the aft crew's mess deck. There was no spare receiver so he creatively came up with an alternate solution to keep the system working. He maintains a positive attitude and is quick to help others.
