Dear Friends and Family,
Over the past two days HEALY has successfully surveyed 651 nm, and 3000 square nautical miles of the Barrow Margin, along the eastern and western Beaufort Sea.
The red track line highlights the area mapped thus far.
In addition to monitoring the progress of Seafloor mapping, several scientists attended a presentation named “What can Blue do for you” given by MK2 Schumacher. The presentation familiarized the audience with the various occupational specialties of the crew, the operational breakdown of the ship, and how those components work together in conjunction with science objectives to execute daily shipboard functions.
Bravo Zulu to the crew and scientist for a successful beginning to the second mission!
