Commander David W. Ramassini

     Commander Ramassini has served in multiple sea-going assignments, his last as Commanding Officer USCGC BARANOF (WPB-1318) and USCGC WRANGELL (WPB-1332) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has previously served afloat as Commanding Officer USCGC KEY LARGO (WPB-1324) homeported in Key West, Florida; Weapons Department Head USCGC MIDGETT (WHEC-726) homeported in Seattle, Washington; First Lieutenant USCGC HARRIET LANE (WMEC-903) homeported in Portsmouth, Virginia; and Deck Watch Officer for summer cruises aboard USCG Barque EAGLE; homeported in New London, Connecticut.

     Commander Ramassini has also completed several staff assignments to include: Senior Instructor Maritime Law Enforcement School in Yorktown, VA; Company Officer at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT; Maritime Force Protection Unit Program Manager and Senior Analyst in the Office of Counterterrorism and Defense Operations at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC; and Coast Guard Liaison to the Director Joint Staff, Strategic Plans and Policy at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

     Commander Ramassini is a 1992 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy, earning a Bachelors Degree in Management. He subsequently earned a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies at the United States Naval War College in 2005.

     Commander Ramassini's personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals with operational device, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals with operational device, and the Commandant's Letter of Commendation Ribbon Bar.
