OUR LAST PATROL

ACTIVE completed yet another successful counter narcotics patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean from April 14 to July 3, 2010. We spearheaded multiple cases resulting in the destruction of 2 smuggling vessels, arrest of 8 suspected smugglers, and the seizure of 124lbs of cocaine. ACTIVE also worked with other Coast Guard units, the DEA, and the US Navy to prosecute cases involving an additional 6 smugglers and 300lbs of cocaine.

Despite our busy operational schedule, the crew was able to enjoy ports of call in Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, and Costa Rica. Of particular note, on this patrol our mission took us south of the Equator, meaning that all “pollywogs” found worthy by King Neptune himself were bestowed the time-honored title of “shellback.”
