Commander Jonathan E. Musman
Commander Musman is a native of Raymond, Washington. He graduated from the Coast
Guard Academy in 1996 with a degree in
Engineering. He holds a
Master of Science Degree from the University of Illinois in Civil Engineering,
and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Alaska.
Upon commissioning he served as Deck Watch Officer aboard CGC STEADFAST homeported in Astoria, OR. Subsequent afloat assignments were as Executive Officer onboard CGC ANACAPA in Petersburg, AK, Executive Officer onboard CGC ASPEN in San Francisco, CA and most recently as Commanding Officer of CGC HICKORY in Homer, AK.
Following graduate school Commander Musman was stationed at Civil Engineering Unit Juneau as a design engineer and tower program manager. Other ashore assignments Commander Musman served at the Pacific Area Command in Alameda CA, where he was in the cutter scheduling and program management division and as Logistics Department Head and Commanding Officer Enlisted Personnel at Sector Los Angeles—Long Beach.
Commander Musman’s awards include the Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal and various other personal, campaign and unit awards.
He is married to Molly Musman DVM of Inverness, California and they have two young boys.
