Mariners: This page is primarily for organizations seeking USCG approval for any of the following:

Training Approvals Overview

If you are a Training Provider or a Designated Examiner, please utilize the tabs on this page when seeking approval for the following:

Courses/Programs: Use to apply for a new course, renew/ modify an existing course, or update training provider contact information.

Instructors: Use when schools want to add an instructor to an existing course or program.

Proctors: Use when schools want to add a proctor to an existing course or program.

Designated Examiners: Use to apply as a new designated examiner or to renew/ modify an existing designated examiner.

Qualified Assessors: Use to apply as a new qualified assessor or to renew/modify an existing qualified assessor.

Courses and Programs

Requests for initial approval, renewal, or modification of a United States Coast Guard approved course or program must be submitted to the National Maritime Center's Training and Assessment Division using the submittal options located on the left hand column of this page.

Utilizing the Course/Program Approval Request Guide and the Site Approval Request Guide will help ensure that all of the required information is submitted in an acceptable format. If you are ONLY updating your school’s contact information, you would only need to fill out page one of the Course/Program Approval Guide.

 

It is highly recommended that approval requests be submitted electronically. However, e-mail cannot exceed 10 MB. If your e-mail attachments exceed 10 MB, you will need to send multiple e-mails.

Instructors/Proctors

Requests for new instructors or proctors of approved courses or programs must be submitted to the National Maritime Center’s Training and Assessment Division using the submittal options located on the left hand column of this page.

Utilizing the Instructor/Proctor Request Guide will help ensure that all of the required information is submitted in an acceptable format. This guide MUST be submitted by a Training Provider.

Designated Examiners
