The mission of the Regional Examination Center (REC) is to pre-screen applications, administer examinations and conduct oversight of Coast Guard approved courses

REC: 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday
Exam Room: 7:30am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday
Exam Scheduling: ALL Mariners are required to schedule their exams 3 working days prior to visiting an REC.
Appointments: We highly recommend that you schedule an appointment before coming to a REC. Walk-Ins will be handled on a 'Space Available' basis only.

Building has armed security and visitors must be screened along with all baggage they bring into the building. No weapons allowed in the building.
Parking: There is expensive metered parking in front of the building, and several expensive parking garages within one block walking distance.
Tolls: Driving from the North of Baltimore to the REC will encounter tolls at the tunnels on I-95.
