Kodiak Guest House

Coast Guard Lodging Eligibility

Location:  Building N-30, 205 Albatross Avenue, Personnel Services and Support Unit (PSSU), Kodiak, AK.

Season of Operation:  Year-round.

Description:  Base Kodiak is located on the North end of Kodiak Island in the Gulf of Alaska, 7 miles from the city of Kodiak and 1.5 miles from the commercial airport.

Facilities:  Northern Lights Fitness Facility with Cardio & Exercise Rooms, Indoor Pool, Racquetball Court, Solar Therapy Room, Indoor Golf Cage, and Basketball Court, Tsunami Lanes Bowling Center, Bear Valley 9 hole golf course, Auto Hobby shop, Woodworking shop, Boat House, Teen Center, Movie Theater, Food Service Facilities, Golden Anchor Sports Pub and Lounge, and a Coast Guard Exchange.

Activities:  Cardio/Exercise rooms, indoor pool, racquetball court, solar therapy room, indoor golf cage, and basketball court.

Recreation Equipment Available:  Full MWR program is located on Base Kodiak.  A large Coast Guard Exchange, commissary, and chapel can also be found on base.  

General Information:  The Guest House is a newly renovated three-story building with 40 rooms containing one double or two twins, 5 family suites, and 1 VIP suite with sitting room.  Two rooms are also available for wheelchair accessibility.  All rooms have private baths and are supplied with basic amenities, phone, cable television, and refrigerator.  Housekeeping service is provided Monday through Friday with minimal services on weekends and Federal holidays.  A guest lounge, fully equipped kitchen, and laundry facility are available on each floor for your convenience.  Centrally located on the first floor is a playroom for children eight years of age and under.  The Guest House is a non-smoking facility and pets are not allowed.

Reservations:  Reservations may be made once the individual has confirmed arrival/departure to/from Kodiak either through the airlines or the ferry, on a space available basis, determined by the following priority system:

1          PCS personnel.

2          All Armed Forces active duty personnel, and DHS/DoD civilian employees on TAD/TDY.

There is a 30-day booking limit and reservations can only be confirmed for this time period.  Guests may request an extension pending circumstances and room availability.  Additional reservations elsewhere are highly recommended for reservations that may extend past the 30 days.  Please contact us for assistance.

3          All other eligible patrons.

There is a 14-day booking limit and reservations can only be confirmed for this time period.  Extensions may be granted on a day-to-day basis.  It is highly recommended that you have a backup reservation elsewhere that extends beyond the 14-day limit.  Please contact us for assistance.

Driving Instructions:  From the airport: Turn left at the stop sign on Rezanof Drive.  The main gate entrance is 1.5 miles (on the left).  Pass through the main gate and turn left on Albatross Avenue, (second left).  Stay to the right at the “Y” intersection.  The Guest House is on the right.  From town: Take Rezanof Drive, you will eventually pass the airport on the left and continue with directions as noted above.  The Coast Guard Base is approximately 7 miles.
