Team San Francisco (91105). You will be joining a team with some of the most exceptionally
motivated and highly trained Maritime Law Enforcement professionals in the Coast Guard.
Although our missions are demanding and arduous, I hope you will find them rewarding and

training, and travel are unsurpassed when compared to other Coast Guard Units.
MSST San Francisco's members can expect to deploy approximately 185 days per year.
A typical deployment lasts normally 30 days. Our primary mission is to provide
Maritime Law Enforcement and Anti-Terrorism Force Protection. MSST's are able to
deploy and arrive on scene within 12 hours anywhere in the nation.

What type of housing is available?
Members W/Dependents: Coast Guard Government-owned family housing is available for all ranks
at three locations: Alameda, Concord, and Novato. The three housing sites vary significantly
in construction, size of units, amenities, proximity to local shopping/schools, and climates.
There are certain assignment restrictions (based on rank and duty station) for each housing site.
Families may only apply for one housing site, which should be clearly stated on your application.

510-769-0831 Ext. 0. The Alameda area housing office is located at 99 Mosley Ave, Alameda, CA 94501.
Members who do not wish to reside in government-owned family housing must request a release from
assignment to hosing from the alameda area housing office prior to obtaining quarters in the private
sector. If you fail to obtain a release from assignment to housing from the alameda areas housing
office it will adversly affect your entitlement to BAH. Bah is only started if you have a signed
release from the Personnels Services and Support Unit (PSSU) alameda area housing officer.

What are the physical fitness requirements?
You should expect to perform the Commandant's revised MLE physical
fitness test shortly after your arrival. Anticipate a 500yd swim, pushups,
pull-ups, sit-ups, sit and reach, and a 1.5 mile run. As a unit, the PFT
is administered semi-annually. Members must be at the gym by 0630 daily. Also, there
is a possibility that you will train on vertical insertion and both armed
/ unarmed law enforcement tactics. You should be comfortable with heights.
There are numerous physical fitness coordinators to assist you in the
development of a personal program, however you should arrive fully ready
to meet these challenges.
