LCDR Christopher A. White is a native of Strasburg, VA and enlisted in the Coast Guard in August 1988 and completed basic training with Recruit Company B-129. His enlisted assignments include the Information Systems Center Alexandria, VA, Air Station Borinquen, PR, Air Station Savannah, GA and Air Station Clearwater, FL. He rose through the ranks to Aviation Structural Mechanic Second Class and was accepted to Coast Guard Officer Candidate School in 2001.
His assignments as a commissioned officer include Naval Flight Training, Pensacola, FL, Coast Guard Headquarters Office of Boat Forces, Washington, D.C., Executive Officer Station Washington, D.C., Senior Watch Officer Atlantic Area/Fifth District Command Center, Portsmouth, VA, Chief of Enforcement Sector Hampton Roads, VA. Prior to assuming command, LCDR White served as the USCG Liaison to the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. There he served as the Training and Education Officer overseeing the formal and online education programs for the Department of Defense as well as a non-lethal weapons instructor.
As Commanding Officer of MSST 91105, LCDR White oversees a professional staff of highly trained operators and support personnel capable of rapid, worldwide deployment to provide Maritime Law Enforcement/Force Protection, Waterside Security, and Canine Explosive Detection.
LCDR White’s military decorations include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Commandant’s Letter of Commendation and various other awards including the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal. Additionally, he wears the Aircrew Designation Insignia and the Advanced Boat Forces Operations Badge.
His most recent academic accomplishment was graduating from Joint and Combined Warfighting School Class 13-01 at Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk VA.
