ISC Miami was created 17 May 1996 from the merger of Base Miami Beach and some financial and administrative elements of the Seventh Coast Guard District Staff.

Causeway Island (CI), site of former Base Miami Beach and home to ISC Miami command staff, is located in Miami Beach. CI is the location of ISC Miami's industrial division, facilities engineering division, medical division, and portions of the personnel and comptroller division. Other commands located on CI are Sector Miami, NESU, and ESD Miami. Personnel-related services available on CI include a clinic, galley, fitness center, handball courts, pool, multi-purpose recreation court, all hands club - the Gator Den, and an exchange.
Richmond Heights (RH), about 25 miles south of downtown Miami, is the CG office building which houses ISC Miami Work-Life, transportation and area housing offices and other commands including CEU Miami, CGIS SAIC Southeast Region, TACLET South, and LEDET Miami.
Brickell Plaza Federal Building (BP) in downtown Miami contains the offices of ISC Miami comptroller division.
