The Advanced Education in Organizational Leadership program prepares officers to assume a wide variety of leadership development jobs within the Coast Guard. Graduates typically receive an M.A. with specializations in leadership, organizational development, organizational behavior, organizational effectiveness, industrial/organizational (I/O) psychology, or human resources. This course supports the Leadership and Professional Development Division's mission to: provide leadership policy, develop elements of the Coast Guard Leadership and Professional Development Program, and administer resources to achieve mission goals.
Target students are typically active duty O-3 to O-4s.
Open once per year. Yearly ALCOASTs (typically released in March/April) solicit for applicants.
See application procedures HERE.
Applications are submitted via the e-resume. In addition, applicants shall mail their recent GRE scores and any transcripts not already in their headquarters Personal Data Record (PDR) to CGPC. Please allow substantial processing time for these documents to be received, as the screening process is resulting in considerable delays in receiving mail at headquarters.
Prospective applicants should act now to ensure PDR completeness (e.g., OERs, Record of Professional Development (Form CG-4082), and academic transcripts). Copies may be obtained from CGPC-adm-3 and CGPC-opm-3.
A selection panel at CGPC reviews the application packages of all eligible applicants and makes selections. Applicants will be contacted upon final approval by CGPC.
