Commanding Officer, (PSU 308)
Commander Ronzelle L. Green assumed duties as Commanding Officer, Port SecurityUnit (PSU) 308, Kiln, Mississippi in September 2012. He is responsible for leading a160 member expeditionary unit supporting national security, defense, and disastrelief operations for the Coast Guard and Naval Expeditionary Combat Comm(NECC) during OCONUS missions and forward deployments.
Prior to this assignment, Commander Green served as the Executive Officer of PSU 305, Ft. Eustis, VA. From December 2011 to July 2012, Commander Green served dual roles as Executive Officer of PSU 305 and forward deployed Chief Staff OfficCommander Task Group 56.5, Camp Patriot, Kuwait Naval Base (KNB) supportingOperations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom. Previous assignments include, Senior Intelligence Officer, Coast Guard Cryptologic Group (CGCG) at the National Security Agency (NSA), Ft. Meade, MD; Assistant Chief of Intelligence and first SenioReserve Officer (SRO), Deployable Operations Group (DOG), Arlington, VA; Post Graduate School, National Defense Intelligence College, Washington, DC; Interoperability Officer, U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM), Norfolk, VA; Engineering Officer, PSU 305, Ft. Eustis, VA; Marine Safety Officer, Marine Safety Office, Wilmington, NC.
On September 11th, 2001, Commander Green was mobilized to New York, NY to provide harbor security and force protection with PSU 305. After concluding operations in New York, Commander Green deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and then Rota, Spain supporting Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
Commander Green, in his civilian capacity, has held various information technology and management roles. He is currently a Department of Defense Civilian in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University.
Commander Green holds a B.S. from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, OK, M.S. from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, M.S. in Strategic Intelligence from the National Defense Intelligence College, Washington, DC, and Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. Commander Green’s awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal 2), 9/11 Medal, Coast Guard Achievement Medal (3), Army Commendation Medal, PSU Insignia, Navy Tactical oxswain Insignia, and various unit and service awards.
