The American public expects VALIANT to perform our mission effectively and with professionalism.  As stewards of the American public, we will conduct ourselves in a professional manner each and every day reflecting a positive image of the U.S. Coast Guard and VALIANT.  To be effective in our mission, we must strive for excellence in all that we do.  Know your ship, your assigned duties and promote the professional development of your subordinates and fellow shipmates. We will place continuous emphasis on training so VALIANT can accomplish her mission safely and effectively. We need to be “always ready” to respond to the many challenges we will undoubtedly face as a crew.  Continuously strive to identify opportunities to make VALIANT a better ship than when you arrived.  We need to ensure VALIANT is capable and ready for future generations of Coast Guard sailors.
