As Commanding Officer, I will perform my duties in a professional, proactive, and consistent manner. I will be guided by our core values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty, as well as by our Guardian Ethos. Follow my lead. We will SAFELY and EFFECTIVELY complete our missions and maintain SENECA to serve into the future. SENECA will succeed as a TEAM.
Mission
We will measure ourselves by the outcomes of our effort, take stock of our effectiveness through constructive critiques, learn from our mistakes, and continually improve.
I will set clear objectives, and expect leaders to provide concise standards and guidance; communications will be direct, unambiguous, and will facilitate dialogue.
There are no insignificant tasks or crewmembers. It is a leadership imperative that we be 100% productive in all our activities. We are ALL crucial to mission accomplishment.
We will empower and challenge our junior personnel and provide growth opportunities.
We will build alliances with our CG, joint and interagency support and operational partners.
Cutter
We will professionally operate and administer SENECA and conduct ourselves with a spirit of compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and service standards.
We will diligently make safety a priority in everything we do; ANYONE can break the error chain. We will consistently assess and mitigate risk for ALL evolutions.
We will follow all guidelines for the maintenance and operation of our systems, and the qualification and readiness of our crew. We will do the job right the first time.
We will take total ownership and pride in the areas under our responsibility. Be innovative!
Shipmates
We will support and look out for each other, always striving to enhance our shipmates and their families' personal and professional development, health, fitness and well-being.
Communication is key to our success. We will share timely, accurate information down and up the chain of command. Questions, input, initiative and new ideas will always be welcome.
We will foster a “community of inclusion”, where all experiences, differences, beliefs and perspectives are honored and valued with a sense of humility and respect.
Self
We will be honest, respect ourselves and others, and be wholly reliable.
We will always take pride in our work, our professionalism, our actions and our conduct. Each of us will strive to be an example to others; SENECA crewmembers will set the bar.
We will continually work to improve ourselves, personally and professionally.
I am committed to providing a positive command environment that is founded in mutual respect, trust, and integrity, and that instills pride and professionalism in everything we do.
