DEPARTMENTS
Operations Department - The Operations Department is concerned with the execution of the Coast Guard missions, primarily Search and Rescue, Counter-drug Law Enforcement, Homeland Security and Alien Migration Interdiction Operations. OPS is responsible for the command and control of the ship, which involves the ship's weapons and communications systems and the supporting elements. The Operations Department is segmented into three divisions: Navigation, Weapons, and Communications. Each division is responsible for the operation and efficient functioning of the cutter.
Engineering Department - The Engineering Department’s motto, “Superior Operational Performance through Engineering Excellence,” is the heart and soul of RESOLUTE’s continued outstanding reputation for meeting all operational commitments. Whether repairing and maintaining the propulsion equipment or the extensive array of habitability equipment to keep the crew’s quality of life outstanding, the Engineers onboard always have some project in the works. The Engineers are also responsible for all DC and electrical equipment throughout the ship. Not only do we “make the ship go” we also contribute to operations by providing Boarding Team Members, smallboat crew, and security details.
Deck Department - Deck has a multifaceted mission onboard. Deck is responsible for the operation of the small boats, completes all hull maintenance, participates in all flight operations, are the experts in marlinespike and seamanship, and stand underway helm, lookout, and Boatswain's Mate of the Watch. Deck Department also stands bridge watches, conducts boat launch, operation, and recovery drills, participates in Law Enforcement Boardings, completes daily shipboard clean-ups, PPP of needed areas (prep, prime, and paint), and performs helo tie-down duties for flight operations.
Administrative Department - Admin serves as the unit support group with health care, food service, parts and supplies management, procurement, and personnel administration. The Supply, Food Service, Administration, and Health Service Divisions are under the Admin Department.
