Commander Michael W. Cribbs
Officer, USCGC HARRIET LANE (WMEC 903)
CDR Michael Cribbs has served eight years at sea in four cutters. From 1993 to 1995 he served as the Combat Information Center Officer in USCGC TAMPA (WMEC 902) in Portsmouth, VA. CDR Cribbs’ next assignment was Executive Officer in USCGC MONHEGAN (WPB 1305) in Key West, FL. From 2002 to 2004 CDR Cribbs commanded USCGC PEA ISLAND (WPB 1347) and deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM as part of Coast Guard Patrol Forces Mediterranean. CDR Cribbs’ most recent afloat tour was as Executive Officer in USCGC LEGARE (WMEC 912).
CDR Cribbs reports to HARRIET LANE from assignment at Coast Guard Headquarters as Deputy, Office of Cutter Forces. His previous shore assignments include: Support and Special Assignments Assignment Officer, Coast Guard Personnel Command, Officer Personnel Management Branch; Assistant Senate Liaison, Coast Guard Congressional Affairs; and Project Manager/Engineer at Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Providence.
CDR Cribbs is a 1993 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy. Additionally he holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is also a licensed professional engineer.
CDR Cribbs’ awards include the Meritorious Service medal, four Coast Guard Commendation medals, three Coast Guard Achievement medals, two Coast Guard Commandant’s Letter of Commendation and various other personal and unit awards.
CDR Cribbs is married to Mrs. Michelle Cribbs. They have three daughters; AnnaJane, Eilis and Leah and reside in Nokesville, VA.
