CDR Mike Stewart is USCGC
FORWARD’s 12th Commanding Officer. He reported to
FORWARD from Coast Guard Personnel Service Center in Arlington,
Virginia where he managed the Coast Guard's officer promotion,
advanced education and special board processes.
CDR Stewart’s experience afloat includes three tours at sea
while assigned as the Executive Officer and as a Deck Watch
Officer in USCGC VALIANT (WMEC 621) as well as the Executive
Officer in USCGC CHANDELEUR (WPB 1319).
CDR Stewart previously served ashore as the Budget and Finance
Officer for Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and the Caribbean
responsible for the management of 70 million dollars in
operational funding. Additionally, he served in District Seven
operations, managing operational cases and exercises for the
state of Florida and the greater Caribbean.
CDR Stewart is a 1994 graduate of the United States Coast Guard
Academy with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. He holds
a Masters in Business Administration from Florida International
University and a Masters of Science in Management Science
(Operations Research) from the University of Miami.
CDR Stewart's awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal
and the Coast Guard Achievement Medal. He also is the recipient
of the 2004 Federal Executive Board South Florida Federal
Employee of Year Award for Management. |
