Lieutenant Commander June Leshnover is a
2000 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy,
where she earned a Bachelor
of Science degree in Government and commission as a Coast Guard Ensign. Her
first tour of duty was aboard USCGC MOHAWK (WMEC 913) based in Key West,
Florida. While aboard USCGC MOHAWK, she served as Deck Watch Officer,
Assistant Navigator, and Communications Officer. Her next tour was at the
Integrated Support Command in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she served as the
Force Optimization and Training Division Chief from 2002 through 2005.
Following her land-based tour, she decided to go back to sea and as assigned
Operations Officer aboard USCGC ACTIVE (WMEC 618) in Port Angeles,
Washington from 2005 through 2008. Lieutenant Commander Leshnover reports to
USCGC DEPENDABLE (WMEC 626) after recently serving as a General Maritime Law
Enforcement Specialist within the Headquarters Office of Law Enforcement
(CG-MLE).
Lieutenant Commander Leshnover has been awarded three Coast Guard Commendation Medals (with Operational Distinguishing Device) and several unit awards.
