Lieutenant Commander Ryan Devlin

Photo Image LCDR Devlin, XO CGC DEPENDABLE LCDR Ryan Devlin enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1992.  His enlisted afloat assignments include tours aboard CGC SHERMAN (WHEC 720) in Alameda, California, and CGC DEPENDABLE (WMEC 626) in Cape May, New Jersey.  He also served as coxswain at Station Georgetown, South Carolina and Lifeboat Station Hatteras Inlet, North Carolina.

After commissioning from Officer Candidate School in 2003,

LCDR Devlin was assigned as a Deck Watch Officer aboard CGC DECISIVE (WMEC 629) in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He then served as an Intelligence Officer at the Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-South) in Key West, Florida.  Returning to sea, LCDR Devlin served as Operations Officer of CGC VENTUROUS (WMEC 625) in St. Petersburg, Florida followed by Commanding Officer of CGC CHANDELEUR (WPB 1319) in Miami Beach, Florida.  His most recent assignment was at the Intelligence Coordination Center where he led the Commandant’s intelligence briefing staff and subsequently as a counter-smuggling analyst focusing on human smuggling and trafficking throughout the world. 

LCDR Devlin’s military awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal (two awards), Coast Guard Achievement Medal (four awards), and various other personal and unit awards.  He achieved permanent cutterman status in 2003.
