LCDR David J. Kowalczyk
Lieutenant Commander David J. Kowalczyk has served as Executive Officer for USCGC CAMPBELL(WMEC-909) since August of 2012.
Lieutenant Commander Kowalczyk is a native of Wilbraham Massachusetts. He graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2001, earning a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering. He subsequently served as a student engineer onboard the Icebreaker USCGC HEALY (WAGB-20) for two years. LCDR Kowalczyk served as a Port Engineer at Naval Engineering Support Unit (NESU) Seattle from 2003 thru 2005. He earned his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in May of 2007. Upon graduation, LCDR Kowalczyk reported to USCGC DECISIVE (WMEC-629), homeported in Pascagoula, MS, serving as Engineer Officer from 2007 until 2010. From 2010 to June 2012, LCDR Kowalczyk was Executive Officer of NESU Honolulu.
LCDR Kowalczyk’s awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, the Achievement Medal, the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation ribbon bar, the Antarctica Service Medal, two Arctic Service Medals, and numerous unit and service awards.
