Rear  Admiral Steven E. Day, Deputy Commander,
for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs, Atlantic Area
 

Rear Admiral Lower Half Steven E. Day assumed his duties as Deputy Commander for Mobilization and Reserve Affairs, Coast Guard Atlantic Area in June 2008. The Area of Operations for this command ranges from the Rocky Mountains to the Arabian Gulf. He is responsible for ensuring over 4,400 Atlantic Area Reservist remain trained and ready to mobilize to support any of the three Coast Guard Reserve Missions.

RDML Day enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1967. After recruit training, he attended Damage Controlman School at Governors Island NY. As a Damage Controlman, RDML Day held assignments at TRASUPCEN Alameda CA, USCGC Tanager, Reserve Unit Duluth MN, and Reserve Unit Green Bay WI, where he was promoted to DC1 in 1977. More....

LANT Reserve Strategic Goals:

  • Collaborative focus on qualified and certified SELRES for Boat Forces and Prevention qualifications with PAC and LANT

  • Continuous communication of SELRES Operational Priorities with the standup of FORCECOM and OPCOM

  • Collectively focused on the goal of 90% or better on personal readiness

  • Coordination with Active Duty command in alignment with Reserve Policy Statement
