Public Affairs provides direct support, advice and counsel to the Atlantic Area Commander, Chief of Staff and Division Chiefs on media interest and reactions regarding Coast Guard activities. Public Affairs also develops and supplements plans for the External Affairs Programs of the Coast Guard with a view toward fostering public and internal knowledge, understanding, confidence and good will respecting the service and its activities.
