The United States is represented on the COMSAR Sub-Committee by the Coast Guard. The Head of Delegation for COMSAR is the Coast Guard's Office of Communication System Chief, CAPT David Dermanelian. CAPT Dermanelian is supported by the Alternate Head of Delegation, Mr. Joe Hersey, the Administrative Program Manager, Mr. Russell Levin, and the various delegation advisors.

The U.S. delegation holds a public meeting several weeks prior to departing for the IMO meeting. The purpose of the public meeting
is to provide an opportunity for the public to interface with the Coast Guard on the U.S. position for each agenda item. Members of the public
interested in attending must contact the meeting coordinator at least 7 days prior to the meeting. The basic meeting details are below however, additional
details can be provided by contacting the meeting coordinator.

At the end of each COMSAR meeting, a final report is prepared for submission to the Maritime Safety Committee. The final report provides a record of the issues discussed and actions taken by the Sub-Committee. The final reports of the most recent COMSAR meetings are provided for your reference.
Additional COMSAR meeting documents can be made available by the Coast Guard for U.S. citizens only. Please contact Mr. Russell Levin if you would like to obtain additional COMSAR documents.
