Military.com has recently added a relocation resource to assist active duty, veteran, and retired military personnel with their moves. The free resource includes a broad range of relocation information including DITY checklists, information on pet transportation, PCS processes, shipping procedures, and more. In addition, the resource lists companies that offer relocation discounts for the military community. For more information, visit:

Operation Military Move is a free service provided to relocating military families. They will provide you with a packet of information on your destination of interest, including community profiles, demographics, schools, etc.

State Information. Get local listings: weather, local sports scores, yellow pages, white pages, maps, classifieds, message boards, chat, movie listings, and web sites in the area where you are moving or considering.

There are three great sites for city information. CitySearch.com and USA City Link. These two sites have great information and links to help you find out more information on virtually any city in the world.

The Defense Technical Information Center Site provides the VHA, Per Diem and COLA Rates worldwide.

Maps On Us is a great site that will help you both give you a free map to your destination, but great directions as well.

The School Report offers free school information: average SAT schools, student/teach ratios, computer in the classroom and more. Discover comprehensive information on over 12,000 public school districts nationwide.

The ASVAB Career Exploration Program provides descriptive information on hundreds of occupations, most existing in both the civilian and military worlds-of-work and spanning most of the jobs in the U.S. economy. Students are provided references to materials in each of these documents for ease in locating information on specific occupations. Students are also encouraged to use the resources in their schools' libraries and career centers.

The Homebuyer's Fair is a site whose mission is to give you the information you need to keep more of your own money when you relocate. Lots of great information (articles, various calculators, charts and services) on mortgage finance resources, insurance rates (home and auto), apartments, moving costs, and deciding where to live (school info, crime rates, etc).

The Big Book is a site with yellow pages, voting information, driving directions, maps, and street finder.

The U. S. Postal Service has a Web Site with some real useful information. Click here to look up a zip code. Click here to visit Movers Net and get on-line help for movers: moving with kids, pets, packing from A - Z, maps of your new neighborhood, motor vehicle registration, voter registration, changes of address, income tax forms and much more.

Apartment Finders helps you locate an apartment and related services anywhere in the country. Lots of self-help publications as well: maps, listings, photos, etc.

Rent Net: a free and easy-to-use database of, unfurnished apartments, temporary furnished suites, international rentals, self storage facilities, and relocation-related services in over 1,500 cities!

There are two great sites for job search help and information.

JobEngine.com- A new high tech job search Web site. Post your resume online. If you're looking for a particular kind of job -- by how close it is to where you live, by job title, Job Engine will find your like matches quickly.

America's Job Bank - A service of the Dept of Labor and State Employment Service Agency. The site links the 1,800 state Employment Service office and provides job seekers with the largest pool of active job opportunities available anywhere. For employers is provides rapid, national exposure for job openings. The nationwide listing in America's Job Bank contain information on approximately 250,000 jobs.

MapQuest provides travel maps with directions.
