Pharmacy Services: Active duty service members and beneficiaries (retirees/family members) on TRICARE Standard or TRICARE Prime/TRICARE Prime Remote are eligible to use the Rockmore-King Clinic pharmacy. A list of medications we stock (which is based on the DOD Basic Core Formulary) may be obtained at the Pharmacy. Some medications on the formulary carry restrictions that require additional paperwork to document medical necessity before we are able to dispense them. The DOD Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee determines which medications require additional justification; a complete list of these medications and required forms are available at www.tricare.osd.mil/pharmacy/medical-nonformulary.cfm.

In the absence of the Pharmacy Officer, NEW PRESCRIPTIONS originating from providers other than our own in-house providers are not processed at the Rockmore-King Clinic pharmacy due to Coast Guard policy. Licensed Pharmacists, not pharmacy technicians or on-the-job pharmacy trainees, have the legal authority to dispense "prescription only" medications to the public. Prolonged Pharmacist absences will be posted at the pharmacy counter as well as on the voice message at 487-5757 x 132; this message is updated weekly.

** In the absence of a Rockmore-King Clinic Pharmacy Officer, beneficiaries may consider the following options for new prescriptions:

  1. TRICARE Mail Order Program (866-444-8442): Must use private prescription insurance first (if any). Prescriptions filled through the TMOP cannot be refilled at the Rockmore-King Clinic pharmacy and involves a co-payment.
  2. Civilian Pharmacy: If you are on TRICARE Prime/Prime Remote, prescriptions may be filled at a network pharmacy (Wal-Mart and Safeway’s are network) for the standard TRICARE Prime co-payment (usually $3.00 or $9.00). Prescriptions filled at a civilian pharmacy cannot be refilled at the Rockmore-King Clinic pharmacy.
  3. Second Prescription: Obtain another prescription from your provider for a sufficient amount of medication to last until the prescription can be filled at the Rockmore-King Clinic pharmacy. This second prescription would need to be filled at a TRICARE contract pharmacy.
  4. Return for non-urgent medications when the pharmacist is available; your physician should be consulted if you choose this option and you are unsure if your prescription may be delayed.

Medication Refills: For your convenience medication refills may be ordered in advance by calling (907) 487-5757 x 132. Refills will normally be ready later in the day. When prompted by the recording, speak slowly and clearly to record your request. You will be prompted to supply the following information:

  1. Patient’s Name;
  2. Last four digits of the sponsors SSN;
  3. Prescription number(s) and name(s) of medication;
  4. A telephone number where someone will be available to answer questions regarding the refill(s) during the day.

Mail Order Pharmacy: Express Scripts, Inc replaced the National Mail Order Program (NMOP) to provide mail order pharmacy services. A new TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy (TMOP) contract will provide a worldwide, full service mail order program to all TRICARE eligible beneficiaries, including TSRx. More information may also be obtained at the www.tricare.osd.mil/pharmacy and the Express Scripts site at www.express-scripts.com.

If you would like to have another individual pickup a prescription, that person must have written authorization to do so.  Prescription Authorization Form
