HSWL RP Kodiak
After Hours Care: After hour’s urgent medical care is provided for active duty members only by the on-duty Health Services Technician. A Medical Officer (Physician or Physician Assistant) is available on call. Dependents and retirees requiring medical care after hours and/or on weekends must use a civilian medical provider, clinic or hospital emergency department. For active duty, the after hours telephone number is (907)942 4214.
Active Duty Emergency Room Visit Follow-Up Policy: Active duty personnel that are seen at the local emergency room must follow-up with their Primary Care Manager (your doctor at RKC) during sick-call on the next business day following discharge from the Hospital ER or sooner as the circumstances dictate. This is to ensure that your doctor at RKC is kept current on your health care needs and can take appropriate action on any recommendations made by the ER physician. For aviation personnel, this follow-up allows the Flight Surgeon to evaluate prescriptions you may have been prescribed that are not compatible with the aviation environment and provide a duty status recommendation to command personnel.
Emergency Services: The Base Kodiak Fire Department provides 24-hour emergency medical response for the Coast Guard base and housing area. The Rockmore-King Clinic does not have an "emergency room"; if you need emergency medical care, dial 911. Patients requiring ambulance emergency service will be taken to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center emergency room via the City of Kodiak Ambulance Service.
