WHAT CAN THE HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAM DO FOR YOU?

As a Coast Guard active duty member, reservist, civilian or spouse you have access to a host of health promotion services designed to help you make healthier lifestyle choices. These programs include:

Unit level programs are designed to encourage the unit and its command to adopt healthier lifestyle behaviors. Unit programs include:

  • Personal Wellness Profiles

  • All Hands Programs

  • Stress Map Evaluations

  • Mobile Screenings

  • Tobacco Cessation Classes

  • And more!

PERSONAL WELLNESS PROFILES

Curious about your current health status? A Personal Wellness Profile (PWP) is designed to identify health risks you may have and offer suggestions for ways to improve your lifestyle. A PWP will rate your overall health, current fitness level, heart health, stress skills, and nutrition habits and provide recommendations for improvements based on your needs. The PWP can be administered on an individual level, or to an entire unit. Ask your Health Promotion Manager to schedule you for an assessment today!

While the decision to quit smoking may be an easy one, quitting is a challenging task. The Coast Guard has resources in place to help you overcome the obstacles associated with quitting and assist you in a successful quit attempt.

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT

Are you tired of struggling to keep within your maximum allowable weight? Maintaining a healthy weight can be a real challenge for busy people in today’s Coast Guard. Don’t let past weight loss failures curb your future success. Schedule an appointment with the Health Promotion Manager and learn successful behavior for losing and maintaining weight.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION SPECIALIST (SAPS) is an educational and referral resource for commands, CDARS, Coast Guard active duty, and family members on substance abuse issues. The SAPS provides initial substance abuse screenings, and impact training.
