Family Resource Specialist

The Family Child Care (FCC) program provides a safe and dependable alternative child care for Coast Guard members. This office provides training and ensures Coast Guard Certification requirements are met. The following services and resources are available within the program:

• List of certified Family Child Care providers

• List of Red Cross Certified babysitters

• Child Care information and referrals

The Special Needs program is intended to ensure family and Coast Guard needs are met by assisting the member with finding appropriate referrals and resources before, during and after relocation. The following services and resources are available with this program:

• Assistance with enrollment

• Resources and referrals

• Advocacy on behalf of families with the CG and civilian agencies

• Assurance that appropriate resources are available in transferring AOR’s

The Adoption Reimbursement Program will subsidize the adoption of children under the age of 18 years of age up to $2000.00 per child after the adoption is final. The following serviced are resources are available within this program:

• Referrals to Adoption Groups

• National Adoption Directory

• Adoption resource books

This office provides information and resources for available scholarships to Coast Guard members. The following services and resources are available within this program:

• Websites to various scholarship resources

• Application procedures for the Sobel Scholarship and other Coast Guard foundation scholarships

This program provides information and resources to family members who may be caring for an elderly family member. The following services and resources are available within this program:

• Referrals to local agencies

• Advocacy on behalf of families within the Coast Guard and civilian agencies

• Websites to provide health and safety information along with other services for seniors.
