FLAG VOICE 340
As an integral component of the Commandant’s ‘Year of the Coast
Guard Family’ initiative, the Engineering and Logistics Directorate (CG-4)
and the Human Resources Directorate (CG-1) have undertaken a comprehensive
nation-wide assessment of all Coast Guard owned family and unaccompanied
personnel housing. The results of this assessment will form the foundation
to an integrated framework of information and policies supporting the
improved management and maintenance of Coast Guard housing.
In order to capture the most comprehensive data on how our Coast Guard
members are making their housing decisions and to better assess Coast Guard
housing, a customer survey has been created and is now available for all
active duty members to complete. It is imperative that a high rate of
response is achieved, as this information is invaluable to a much larger
housing effort. I strongly encourage leadership and Commanding Officers to
stress the importance of this survey and ensure maximum participation.
This customer survey also contains additional questions for Operational
Commanders to access housing impacts on Coast Guard missions. As our front
line leaders in the field, Operational Commanders are in the best position
to report on the affects Coast Guard housing has on our people and what the
Coast Guard can do to improve their quality of life.
All active duty military personnel will receive an email from the SILC
Mission Readiness Product Line notifying members of the survey. Active duty
members are to complete the survey by October 19, 2011.
