What are assessments, updates and official transcripts?
An assessment is an initial evaluation showing the ACE recommended college credits for a member's advancement history, military training. It will also include a member's DANTES examination credit and professional licensure/certification.
An update is a request to update an existing assessment with current information.
An official transcript is the documentation that colleges require in order to award credit for military learning experiences. An assessment must be done before an official transcript can be created. CGI sends official transcripts directly to the member's college.
Assessments and updates may be requested by active duty members, reservists, civilian employees and spouses.
Official transcripts may be requested by active duty members, reservists, civilian employees, spouses and retired/separated personnel.
For non-military spouses, only CLEP/DANTES/DSST score reports can be transcribed onto a CG transcript.
Member emails the completed form and documentation to the ESO.
ESO reviews the application.
ESO opens a new TACCTS ticket for the RO Division and attaches the application and documentation to the ticket.
How to review and approve applications
You shall review the application for accuracy and completeness.
Check the application to insure that:
the applicant has selected either assessment, update or official transcript. A member may request an assessment or update at the same time as a transcript. However, they may not request a transcript if they have not previously requested an assessment.
the applicant has filled out all required information
the applicant has provided all required documentation
