Personnel Manual Break-up

The PERSMAN has been replaced by 12 new Manuals or Instructions, loosely aligned with the former chapters in the PERSMAN. This change will improve download speeds, reduce bandwidth usage, and more importantly, allow the Office of Military Policy to promulgate updates in a more timely fashion.

These manuals include numerous changes including the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.  Other policy changes made after February 2011 will be incorporated in future updates. The new directives will incorporate Modernization organizational changes as well as policy changes previously announced by Decision Memos and ALCOASTs. Additional information and tools to aid users during the transition will be maintained on this website.
