The Team Support Division consists of the Equipment Branch, Training & Readiness Branch, and the CBRN/Safety Branch.
The Equipment Branch coordinates all NSF Oil spill response, vessel salvage, lightering, pumping, communication equipment and response support equipment procurement, implementation, standardization, and evaluation. The branch oversees the management of all aspects of NSF oil spill response planning and response programs for the three strike teams, including the development of doctrine, policies, and operating procedures (oil spill response, salvage, lightering etc). The branch also oversees the administration of the preventive maintenance program for CG-owned pre-positioned oil spill response equipment.
Training & Readiness Branch
The Training & Readiness Branch maintains NSF response readiness through administration of the training program, response policy doctrine, and qualification program for the three strike teams. The Training Branch is also responsible for scheduling, contracting, logistical coordination, and oversight of all strike team training. In addition, the branch ensures the standardization of response policies and training programs for all teams. Scheduling and oversight of all required training at the NSFCC as well as policy review is also a responsibility of the Training Branch.
The CBRN/Safety Branch coordinates all NSF Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) response equipment procurement, implementation, standardization, and evaluation. The branch manages all aspects of the Chemical, Biological, and Radiological (CBR) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) planning and response programs for the three strike teams, including the development of doctrine, policies, and procedures. The CBRN/Safety Branch also manages all Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) budget and equipment for the NSF.
