The best way to compare the MK shop here to a ship is to think of the MK’s as part of a robust “A” gang.  We have many different types of motors and hydraulically driven pumps.  The AST has Tractors, a large variety of trailers from 14’ utility trailers to 48’ box trailers, forklifts, and a 10T crane truck in its inventory.  The pumping capability the Strike Team has is due to the variety of both submersible and non-submersible pumps in its inventory, the MK’s spend time ensuring these pumps are up to the task, whatever that may be.  The MKs take care of all these pieces of equipment  along with being responders this is  a full time job.
