Command Chief

Meet the Command Chief, BMC Robert Holm

Atlantic Strike Team Command Chief R. HolmBMC Holm began his military career in 1995. Upon graduating boot camp he was assigned the CGC Jarvis, a 378’ cutter in HI. After completing 3 out-pats to the Bearing Sea and one in the South Pacific he was transferred to TACLET Gulf in Corpus Christi TX in May of 1997. He served on team(s) 8E & F until 1999 when TACLET Gulf was decommissioned and was re-assigned to LEDET 209 under TACLET North. Among other operations, he completed nine successful Counter Drug (CD) deployments. In May of 2000 he was transferred to STA Boothbay Harbor ME. He held numerous collateral duties including section leader and was a qualified coxswain on the Coast Guards 41’, 44’ & 47’ SAR assets. In May of 2002, he reported to Yorktown VA to the Coast Guards second Maritime Safety and Security Team (MSST). He completed his initial stand-up training in Camp Lejune NC. Assigned as the operations Petty Officer for a waterside detachment, he spent two years conducting port security operations and training in ten major ports along the East Coast. In 2004 he completed the assessment and initial training phase for the Special Response Team (SRT) at Naval Stations Northwest VA and earned the Team Leader position for team Delta on the Coast Guards first designated Counter Terrorism Team (CT). He spent two years training in CT tactics under the direction of U.S. Army and Navy Special Forces. IN the spring of 2006 he volunteered for an overseas assignment with PATFORSWA and was assigned to the CGC Adak as the First Lieutenant. He spent one year on the Iraq / Iran border conducting security and NATO operations in the Persian Gulf. In May of 2007 he was assigned to the Atlantic Strike Team at Fort Dix NJ and in July of 2009 assumed the duties of Command Chief. BMC Holm’s personnel awards include a Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal (2), Letter of Commendation, Good Conduct Medal (4) and numerous other awards.
