CONA crew of Traverse City

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh - A Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City H-65 Dolphin helicopter crew provided demonstrations and aircraft tours throughout the week-long CoNA event. The crew (from left to right): AST3 Rob Rendon, LTJG Jonna Clouse, LT Rob Wright, AMT1 Josh Taggart, and seated: AMT3 Troy Campbell.

With increases in attendance, airplanes, and mostly ideal weather, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2011 was declared a tremendous success by EAA President/CEO Rod Hightower. It is the largest aviation event in the western hemisphere. The final figures for the recently concluded event showed attendance of 541,000 - a 1.3 percent increase over 2010 - and more than 10,000 aircraft arriving at Wittman Regional and other airports in east-central Wisconsin.
