The Marine Environment Protection Committee is a committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The committee meets every 9 months to develop international conventions relating to all manner of marine environmental concerns including the recycling of ships, controlling emissions, and harmful aquatic organisms in ballast water, to name just a few. More information on the work of the MEPC can be found at IMO's MEPC site.

The US Coast Guard can provide US citizens access to IMO/MEPC current session documents via the USCG Homeport web site. In the very near future, older documents can be requested directly from the International Maritime Organization after the meeting has concluded. Until then, requests for older documents can be made to the email address: environmental_standards@uscg.mil.
First time users of Homeport will be required to register to establish an account. Registration requires providing your name and a US mailing address for shipment of the requested documents. If you do not wish to register with Homeport, you may request any of the documents directly from the IMO after the session has completed.
Please note, the IMO restricts Flag administrations to distribute documents to their own citizens only. Non-US citizens can contact their applicable domestic agency or the IMO directly at www.imo.org.
