The Marine Environment Protection Committee is a committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The committee meets every 9 months to develop international conventions relating to marine environmental concerns including ship recycling, controlling emissions, and invasive species. More information on the work of the MEPC can be found at IMO's MEPC site.
IMO now allows members of the public to obtain a public IMO Web Account and gain access to portions of IMODOCS and GISIS. Interested persons may visit the log-in webpage at https://webaccounts.imo.org. Currently, public access is only for past meetings, but the United States continues to advocate for additional transparency with IMO documents.
The Coast Guard can provide US citizens with access to IMO/MEPC current session documents via the USCG Homeport web site.
Please note, the IMO restricts Flag administrations to distribute documents to their own citizens only. Non-US citizens may contact their applicable domestic agency or the IMO directly at www.imo.org.
