Assistant Commandant for Engineering and Logistics (CG-4)

RDML Michael HaycockRDML Haycock is currently serving as the Assistant Commandant for Engineering and Logistics, (CG-4), and has assumed the title of the Coast Guard's "Chief Engineer." He is a native of Delavan, Illinois, and graduated from the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. He later earned a Master of Science Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and a Master of Science Degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from University of Michigan in 1992. RDML Haycock received his DHS Program Manager, Level III, Certification in January 2008.

RDML Haycock, a permanent Cutterman with over 11 years of sea service, has served afloat as Damage Control Assistant aboard USCGC POLAR STAR (WAGB-10), Assistant Engineer Officer aboard USCGC BOUTWELL (WHEC-719), Engineer Officer aboard cutters MELLON (WHEC-717), and POLAR SEA (WAGB-11), and as Executive Officer and later Commanding Officer of USCGC SHERMAN (WHEC 720).

RDML Haycock's tours ashore include Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific as the Icebreaker Support Section Assistant, Naval Engineering Support Unit Seattle as the Project Manager for the Polar Console Renewal Project, Naval Engineering Support Unit Honolulu as the Commanding Officer, Deepwater Project Surface Domain Deputy Project Manager and national Security Cutter Project Manager within the Assistant Commandant for Acquisition staff; and as Commander, Surface Forces Logistic Center.

RDML Haycock's military awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with Operational Device, Coast Guard Commendation Medal with Operational Device, Coast Guard Achievement Medal, Antarctica Service Medals, Arctic Service Medal and several other unit and service awards.
