Flight Suit

1. The only patch authorized for the front right is the one that says "United States Coast Guard Auxiliary" and has the Auxiliary version of the stripes (larger one blue, smaller one red).
2. The only color authorized for the flight suit is sage green made of Nomex material. No other fabric is approved. The reason is that the fire resistance of the Nomex fabric is part of our personal protective equipment (PPE) scheme. The designator for the approved version is CWU-27/P.
3. Sage-green-backed sew-on embroidered insignia of office (with a black A superimposed) on the shoulders is now authorized and considered normal, although not required. The flight suit (see above) does not have epaulets on it. The shoulders are plain; the insignia has its own backing and is sewn directly on the body of the flight suit.4. An American National Ensign is on the left shoulder.
5. A District/Air Station patch is on the right shoulder (talk with your District Aviation Board).
6 On the left front is a patch that has either pilot or air crew wings (or Auxiliary emblem for observers), along with Name, Aviation Qualification (optional) and "USCG Auxiliary".
