Commonly Claimed Expenses Active Duty Member

CG Foundation Grants pay for many education related expenses, this list is not all-inclusive. Final determination for what is authorized rests with the Commanding Officer, CG Institute.

Application/Entrance/Enrollment (unless these fees are identified by the school as "fees in lieu of tuition")
Consumables (pens, notebooks, highlighters, etc.)
Late Registration fees, Class Withdrawal fees
Record Maintenance fees, Student Activity/Student ID
Membership of Society dues/fees
General Technology fees, Parking fees, Transcript fees, Dissertation/Oral Exams
Text books, manuals and study guides
Taxes & shipping for authorized expenses (i.e. books)
Non-consumables (memory sticks, ink cartridges, clothing items, etc.)
Software available on the CG workstation or at the learning institution. (i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
Some non-traditional courses (case by case basis)
Non-credit aviation classes , boat towing license, firefighting
Class specific requirements such as software, calculators or stethoscope. Student must provide syllabus with application showing the item is required for the course.
Foreign language software such as Rosetta Stone
Internet connection fee for home use
Computer equipment or peripherals (printer, ink, monitor, laptop, hard dive, etc.) Camera & tripod
Tuition paid by student loans that are not in payback status (student is not making payment on loan yet)
Personal Fitness Trainer Cert
GRE, LSAT, and ECE exams
SAT, ACT, GMAT, PRAXIS, CLEP, DSSTexams (DANTES pays for these exams)

Tuition costs in excess of Tuition Assistance

Receipts must not be over 1 year old from date Institute receives application package.
Receipts MUST show an actual description of the item you purchased. To ensure the financial integrity of this grant program, the CG Institute must be able to prove that each grant issued was for an authorized expense in keeping with the guidelines provided by the CG Foundation. This documentation will ensure satisfactory completion of any future audit.
Receipts MUST show proof of payment. Proof of payment is a receipt shows a credit card charge or states "Paid in Full" or a balance due of $0.00 or otherwise clearly shows payment has been made.
Submit legible copies of receipts as receipts will not be returned to the member.
Each exam may be claimed only one time per member. Retakes of the same exam are not authorized for reimbursement.
