About the Course

Interagency collaboration is increasingly the norm and U.S. government professionals need the skills to negotiate and thrive in this environment. The earlier they have this exposure and training, the better. This course introduces employees at the working level from different agencies to the knowledge, information, and skills needed to be effective when working in the interagency.

Schedule: Five days; 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Eligibility: GS-12/13, O-3, or FS-03 employees whose jobs involve some level of interagency coordination.

Timeframe:

Session 1: 18-22 March 2013 (Application deadline: 1 Dec 2012)

Session 2: 6-10 May 2013 (Application deadline: 1 Dec 2012)

Session 3: 8-12 July 2013 (Application deadline: 1 Dec 2012)

Enrollment Procedures:

This course is available to NCR personnel only. Interested candidates should complete the Nominee Information Form making sure to describe in 2-3 sentences your background as it relates to our national security and what exposure to the interagency you currently have or expect to have in the future. Along with a brief (not to exceed one page) recommendation (which will weigh heavily in our selection process) from their supervisor. Click HERE to access the Nominee Information Form.

Selection Procedures:

CG-133 will review all nomination packages of all eligible nominees; however, final selection will be made by FSI. Candidates will be notified by email of their selection. Alternates will be selected and will attend the program in the event a primary candidate cannot attend.

The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) is the Federal Government's primary training institution for officers and support personnel of the U.S. foreign affairs community, preparing American diplomats and other professionals to advance U.S. foreign affairs interests overseas and in Washington. At the George P. Shultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center, the FSI provides more than 600 courses—including some 70 foreign languages—to more than 100,000 enrollees a year from the State Department and more than 40 other government agencies and the military service branches.
