Senior Leadership Principles and Skills

About the Program

The Senior Leadership Principles and Skills course is held at the Leadership Development Center, New London, CT. The purpose of the course is to build leadership knowledge, abilities, skills and attitudes of the mid-level employees. The training requires participants to be away from their position for 5 days.
Participant Objectives

Areas of study include: self-awareness and learning, effective communications, influencing others, respect for others, and diversity management, team building, mentoring, management and process improvement, decision making and problem solving, conflict management, vision development and implementation, partnering, and strategic thinking.

GS 12-14, WS 8-14, WL 10-15, WG 10-15, O4, O5, NF 4-5

  1. Coordinate with your Training Officer or ESO to submit an Electronic Training Request (ETR) using Direct Access. Course code: 501316.

Costs are paid by Coast Guard Headquarters (AFC 56 "C" school account).
