Day One
Reporting to School
When you arrive at the Training Center you should check in with the Master At Arms (MAA) at Horsely Hall. If you are an early arrival you will be given a chance to meet with the YN School Staff. Afterwards, you will be day-working onboard the TRACEN until your class convening date.
What to Expect on the First Day
You will muster at 0645 on the Monday your class starts at the Longitude/Latitude area of Horsely Hall. In the event of inclement weather you will muster in the lobby of Horsely Hall. You will be met by one of the Instructing staff members to take you to the Base Chapel for Indoctrination to the TRACEN and its policies.
There will be a personnel inspection, so make sure you are in the correct uniform and in compliance with the Coast Guard grooming and weight standards.
Uniform of the Day for the First Day
The Uniform of the day for the first day is Tropical Blue Long.
What to Bring to TRACEN Petaluma
- A complete SEA BAG
- Appropriate civilian attire, including warm clothes
and a rain coat. Do not bring items that would bring
discredit to you or the service. If you have
doubts about articles of clothing leave them at home.
- Work out clothing: Standard Coast Guard issue gym clothes, or shorts, tee shirts, tennis shoes, sweat pants, sweat shirts.
