Lake Recreation Area and Camping
The Lake Recreation Area is located at the southeast end of the Training Center Petaluma off Pennsylvania Ave. The area includes a 5-acre lake, playgrounds, picnic areas, 6 hook-up RV sites, tent camping sites, canoes and kayacks, and sports activity areas, including horseshoes and volleyball.
RV Campgrounds: Six 50' cement pads each having electrical (30amps), water and cable tv. Reservations are required for a two week maximum stay at $20.00/night.
Tent Camping: Tent camping is also available at the designated spots for $6.00/site.
The fees for guests (anyone needing to be sponsored aboard TRACEN Petaluma) are $40.00/night for RV's and $12.00/night for tent camping.
Campers must check in at the MWR Customer Service Desk located in the Library next to the Two Rock Coffee Company. The Customer Service Desk is open Monday - Friday: 1300 - 1900, Saturday: 0800 - 1300, Sunday: 1300 - 1800.
All after hour check in must be done at the Police Department and Campers must come to the MWR Customer Service Desk the next day to fill out appropriate forms and pay fees. Check out time is 1300 from the RV Campgrounds.
Canoes and kayaks can be checked out for boating on the lake only. Paddles and canoes are stored in the boat shack at the lake. You must come up to the gym to check out the keys for the boat shack and get life jackets.
