The SK "A" School curriculum is designed to provide the knowledge, skills, attitudes and abilities required of a Storekeeper Petty Officers Third Class. The course is solely based on the SK3 Performance Qualifications, which can be found at HTTPS://ELEARNING.USCG.MIL/ . Students are required to demonstrate/perform proficiency on all the SK3 performance qualifications.
SK 'A' is
a seven week long performance based course. Students
perform actual SK tasks, practical exercises in; MILSTRIP,
research Federal Logistics Data (FEDLOG), Create MILSTRIP
messages using Coast Guard Message System (CGMS), Simplified
Acquisition Procedures using Finance & Procurement
Desktop (FPD), Fiscal Procedures, Shipping and Receiving,
Inventory Management and Configuration Management (CMPlus),
Property Management, and Transportation of freight.
The class
will move as fast as the slowest student.
SK School is NOT self
pace.
In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in business writing, or writing for business or business correspondence, and 2 in business administration; in the upper-division baccalaureate category, 2 semester hours in property management and inventory control.
