Retiring in 2001 as a Commander after 20 years of Coast Guard service, Mr. Call last served on active duty as Chief of the Coast Guard Intelligence Planning and Management Division. As such, he was responsible for developing and implementing intelligence policy, long-range organizational planning and resource and budget formulation. His duties included coordination and liaison with the Intelligence Community, Congressional Staffs and various national security organizations within the Executive Branch. Past military assignments include Program Manager and Intelligence & Security Officer for Presidential Contingency Programs in the White House Military Office and inaugural Chief of the Coast Guard Operational Intelligence School. Earlier tours of duty included Deputy Commander, Group Cape Hatteras, NC, Intelligence Officer, Assistant Group Operations Officer and Officer in Charge Station/Base Milwaukee, WI and in Coast Guard Cutter BITTERSWEET
Upon graduation from Officer Candidate School in 1983 after two years of enlisted service, Mr. Call received his commission from the U.S. Coast Guard. He earned a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence at the Joint Military Intelligence College and is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo with a B.A. in Political Science (Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa).
Mr. Call's military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Coast Guard Meritorious Service Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, the Commandant's Letter of Commendation Ribbon and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He was also awarded the Presidential Service Badge.
