The Civil Rights Directorate continues to develop outreach initiatives to better serve the public. Through these and other programs the
Coast Guard fosters an environment promoting civil rights and community
involvement.

Authorized under the National and Community Service Act of 1990, the Coast Guard Partnership in Education Program encourages members of the Coast Guard to create partnerships within their local schools and communities to promote excellence in education. More.

Within the context of the EEO program and the Federal Merit System, the programs emphasize the enhancement of employment and advancement opportunities for minorities, women, and persons with disabilities.
