Coast Guard Day

A Coast Guard tradition for the entire community to enjoy!  The Coast Guard Day Celebration is on the 4th of August.  There are activities for all family members to enjoy, including rides, games, dancing, music, and plenty of food and drink!  The annual 5K Race is held in the morning as well as races for the children.

Instructional Classes

MWR offers many instructional classes to eligible personnel at either no cost or very minimal cost.  Available classes include karate, swim lessons, and a variety of fitness classes.  If you have an interest or a talent to share in a particular area, MWR is always open to introducing a new activity!

Intramurals

The MWR has a year-round intramural program.  Divisions can participate in league play for softball, basketball, flag football, volleyball, and wallyball.  In addition to this, there is a Captain's Cup Tournament for these sports, and twice a year, MWR sponsors a Sport's Day where divisions compete against each other.

Tournaments

At various times during the year MWR offers tournaments in tennis, racquetball, horseshoes, darts, pool, and numerous card games.  We offer something for everybody!

MWR Sponsored Bus Trips and Activities

During the year MWR offers many bus trips to all authorized personnel.  It is fast becoming a tradition to visit Washington, D.C. and New York City; these trips are usually popular and well attended.  In NYC in particular, one of the highlights of the year is attending the world famous Christmas show at Radio City Hall featuring the Rockettes!

Activities throughout the year include ski trips, fishing trips, casino trips (which include tickets to shows), and the opportunity to purchase tickets for sporting events.
Other big events of the year include Morey’s Piers, Water Parks & Picnic Outing, Splash Zone Labor Day Party, and Oktoberfest.  These are wonderful and very affordable ways to spend a day with the family.

We are always looking for things to offer and in the past years have gone to Philadelphia, Lancaster, and Cowtown.  If you have any ideas for a day trip, please stop by MWR and share your thoughts with us.
