The Equal Opportunity Program (EOP) is consistent with the Coast Guards vision of remaining true to the values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty. It also emphasizes the Coast Guards goal of becoming the nations employer of choice, attracting highly qualified applicants for employment from an increasingly diverse pool of talent. The EOP must ensure this by vigorously preventing discrimination and sexual harassment in the workforce, so that the only roadblocks to success exist in a persons mind. Finally, the EOP reiterates the Team Coast Guard concept. Every memberregular or reserve military, civilian, and Auxiliaryis vital to the Coast Guards overall missions.

The Human Relations Council (HRC) is a volunteer council consisting of civilian and military personnel from the Training Center and local units.
Our mission is to serve as an active vehicle through which the Commanding Officer of Training Center, and local Commanding Officers and OINC’s are kept informed of equal opportunity matters within their commands. The HRC provides a forum for the surfacing and frank discussions of real and perceived equal opportunity problems or practices.
The ultimate goal of the HRC is to help provide a work environment in which all members of the Coast Guard have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. We will take action to ensure the full, fair, and equal participation of all Coast Guard personnel in all of our Coast Guard activities.
Anyone from the Training Center and local units interested in serving on the HRC should contact the Equal Opportunity Advisor, SCPO Steven Snyder (609) 898-6919.
